Soul Kool: Barefoot Concert on the Green

July 11 brings Soul Kool to the green at Sea Pines, and if you've seen them before, you already know what you're getting into. The Reyes brothers, Roy, Terry, and Reggie, along with Sal Cruz, set out to build the most versatile dance band on the Central Coast, and they've done exactly that. Nine genres, no MIDI files, no backing tracks. Just four musicians playing it live and making it sound like twice as many.
Soul Kool has performed for crowds of 10,000 to 40,000, sharing bills with Blues Grammy nominees and Latin rock legends. On a golf course in Los Osos with the estuary at your back and a cold drink in hand, that kind of energy hits a little differently.
Albert Sanudo opens the afternoon at 2pm with a solo set, and returns to close out the evening inside The Clubhouse Grill from 6 to 8pm. Two sets, one artist, bookending one of the bigger dance acts on the coast.
Soul Kool takes the green from 3 to 6pm. Wear shoes you don't mind losing.
